Rainsford were appointed by Mace on this development of 339 student rooms, 9 residential units, reception and retail units on the ground floor. This additional accommodation would enable students from Queen Mary’s College, King’s College, Imperial College and London School of Economics to be housed in a convenient location close to Aldgate East tube station.
On this project, we provided carpentry and kitchen installations as well as the supply and fit of specialist joinery.
Logistically, this was a very tight site with a high pedestrian footfall constantly passing by and the high level of traffic made deliveries very difficult. As the programme was very challenging this required exact phasing of material deliveries, labour allocation together with first class supervision to achieve the end date. This required not only extended hours during the week, but weekend working as well.
