Originally called the Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum when it was opened in 1863, Broadmoor Hospital is the best known and oldest of the three high security psychiatric hospitals in England.
The victorian architecture no longer offers fit for purpose accommodation and care appropriate for the high secure services required in the present day. The redevelopment provides wards and support facilities for 234 beds and consists of bright, wide passageways, new build modern living conditions with upgraded facilities for patients as well as an improved environment for all employees.
Rainsford were tasked with carrying out dry lining and suspended ceilings, 2nd fix joinery, fire doors and external cladding.
